I got bored of uni and my dissertation so after a quick email I was off, heading over to Dublin for a few days to get away from Southampton and everything English. I arrived in dublin Thursday morning and after finding my way into town and then out I searched for the store known as Irish Canoe, hidden in a vast jungle of warehouses and industrial units then I found it just jumped out from knowhere!

With a few days away, I spent most the time in I-Canoe generally getting in the way trying to sell things, The evenings I spent having romatic candle lit dinners with Colm, and drinking guinness.

I got a chance to sample Dublins Premier (only) Playspot at the sluice which was running to 2 meg, a nice spot good for most things though takes a little getting used too.

We spent saturday night in the Wicklows camping overnight of which I slept in a hammock (very cool) before climbing the next day (very hot)

found hidden at the back of the unit a sk8r boat, very cool idea! lost of people have talked about now ive seen someone thats actually done it!

thanks to Colm for having me and hope theirs some more water next time im over.

For Canoexpo I joined with I-Canoe to show Bliss Stick kayaks, H20 and turtle paddles as well as clear water kayaks. the show was a really good publicity event with all the top suppliers hosting for many it was a chance to buy from what is the biggest brand in kayak shops in the UK for others it was a time to meet up with old friends the event ran smoothley with a lot of interest in all of our equipment,

Christmas 2007 was spent in scotland with southampton uni due to lack of water the boating was limited to some cheeky runs of the Etive, spean, Roy and a slide down the allt hueran. as well as a minus 12` day on the findhorn with the lack of water I decided to run up ben nevis.

Last weekend after months of organising we finally made it, with a lot of teams dropping out last minute the decision was made to in ahead with 5 teams. The comp was successful with soton uni walking off as winners followed closely by hamble sea scouts A team. The evening was rounded off with hog roast fireworks and music. Everone had a great time look forward to a series of events next summer.

Explorer camp week

Since i wasnt boating at the moment, around came the october half term, and with it brought explorer camp on HMS Bristol. A ship i have so many memories. The week started badly with me running the mountain biking course, all went well i got the group a mini bus and a brand new hire car, all went well. We got to the new forest where the bike hire had no idea of our booking. What to do with 15 kids? So i took them to fort purbrook in portsmouth. One of the sites i work at and managed to use the string trail and get the group climbing. This went on for sat and sun. By monday i had managed to book woodmill outdoor centre (one of my sponsors) to allow me to get the group in their for 3 days. We started the morning with a selection of activities including tunnel, low ropes archery even slipping. Followed by a macdonalds lunch to get away from the death packs. We carried onto the afternoon where with the help of ivan and jon managed to get the high ropes tower. Zip wire and high ropes course.

After a busy summer season at woodmill i took a few weeks off to go to ireland with the girl friend we drove over so spent some time living out of the van. Whilst over their we did lots of touristy things such as visiting cliffs going surfing visiting caves and looking at waterfalls. Before relaxing up at the in laws house in northern ireland before driving back via dublin to collect lots of shiny new bliss stick boats. From their spent a night in chester before carrying on down to the nene competition check out the photos below.
